Embark on an unforgettable underwater adventure in the enchanting waters of Mar Rojo! Dive into the crystal-clear depths of Satayah Reef, where you'll have the extraordinary opportunity to swim alongside the majestic dugongs.
Dugongs are the only vegetarian marine mammals. This enormous marine herbivore is found in warm coastal waters from East Africa to Australia, including the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the Pacific.
They are related to manatees and resemble them in both physical appearance and behavior, with the difference being that the dugong’s tail is fluked like a whale’s. Both animals are related to the elephant, although the bears do not resemble them in either appearance or behavior.
Diving in Egypt is available year-round. The best time is from March to mid-December when water temperature ranges from 25º-28º. During winter (mid-December to February), water temperature remains at 21-23º. The Red Sea offers different diving spots with diverse marine life, historic shipwrecks, and stunning coral walls.
